Strong Scottish Support for Third Edition of PLASA Focus Glasgow

PLASA Focus Glasgow

Scotland's live events and festivals sector throw its weight behind the third edition of the hugely successful PLASA Focus Glasgow, which returns to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center (SECC) January 18 - 19, 2017. The event will again offer live product demonstrations, the latest technological innovations from a wealth of manufacturers and distributors, alongside a packed two-day program of informative, relevant, and educational seminars.

The events and festivals sector is a major contributor to the Scottish economy -- both locally and internationally -- and this year Scotland has taken steps to invest in the future of the industry with the unveiling last month of a ten-year collaborative strategy to significantly grow this £3.5 billion industry.

The result of an 18-month consultation process involving the Scottish government, VisitScotland, Scottish Tourism Alliance, and over 100 active participants from the public, private, and third sector, "Scotland -- The Perfect Stage" aims to help the sector develop and deliver world-class events.

The new strategy aligns perfectly with PLASA's own, which offers big businesses and smaller enterprises the chance to exhibit in a cost-effective manner and in a face-to-face environment ideal for generating business. Director of PLASA's events division Christopher Toulmin comments, "The Glasgow Focus show gives manufacturers, dealers, and distributors the chance to showcase innovative technology in a region which is rich in cultural and international events."

Last year the PLASA show received an overwhelming level of positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike. Overall the event grew by 26%, highlighting the continuing potential for business opportunities in the region. Toulmin continues, "The investment in Scotland's venues, facilities, and infrastructure for sustainable events highlights a demand for innovative solutions for use in live events, concerts, tours, theatre productions, venue installations, and leisure attractions."

The two-day, free-to-attend exhibition is a platform for showcasing the latest technology used in live events, concerts, tours, theatre productions, venue installations, and leisure attractions. The show registration is now open and more information about the event can be found at the URL below.
