1 SOUND Sponsors Meet Music Festival in Tuscany Meet Music Festival, an annual competition, was created by DJ Luca Guerrieri with the goal of giving the opportunity for young talents, DJs, and not- yet-established artists to perform in a professional situation. This year's two-day event was held in Follonica, Italy in the garden of the local venue Casello Idraulico. Sponsors included Red Bull, Sounder, and loudspeaker manufacturer 1 SOUND. The event featured four contests -- held in collaboration with Red Bull, Grey Cat Jazz Festival, the record labels Claps Records and Tartara, the professional DJ company Higher Sound, and the festival Follsonica -- that highlighted four musical genres ranging from deep house to hip-hop and trap. The jury was made up of professionals such as Renato Tanchis (A&R Sony Music) and Pierangelo Mauri (historical music editor) who selected three finalists for each contest. Mods Art, 1 SOUND's Italian distributor, provided loudspeakers and a technician. For DJ monitoring, a Contour CT28, on an Active Tube stand, and SUB12 were placed on either side; a Contour rigging system aided in aiming the top loudspeaker. The main sound rig consisted of a 1 SOUND Tower LCC84 and SUB310 per side; the LCC84's wide 120° dispersion provided the necessary throw distance and audience coverage. The winners of the competition receive the opportunity to perform their own music at the official Higher Sound evening at The Club House, a historic disco in Follonica. The winner of the pop dance contest gets to perform at a major Red Bull brand event. Meet Music arranged for all the winners to be supported by the radio circuits of the media group Syndimedia, including Full Nation, Music For Italy, and House Club Set.
