Barco Continues to Grow Visualization Technology Footprint in Brazil with Strong Local Support

Celebrating more than 20 years in Latin America, global visualization company Barco is strengthening its presence in Brazil with a growing deployment of advanced visualization projects that support public health and safety, commerce, and entertainment in the region.

As the ninth largest economy in the world, Brazil has experienced vast expansion and significant economic and social progress during the past decade. The company says Barco believes in the economic strength of the country as one of the largest growth engines in Latin America, and has been an active contributor to the region for many years, helping to elevate the standard of living for millions of residents, while offering opportunities for business growth.

Harnessing the knowledge and experience of its engineers and professional employees, and numerous technology and business partners in Latin America, Barco offers AV solutions delivering reliability and low total cost of ownership. The combination of intensive research and development, design innovation, and expert manufacturing practices leverages the strong foundation of Barco's core operations as well as resources deployed in 90 offices around the world.

Many of Barco's technologically advanced AV solutions have contributed to the success of Brazil's high-profile public venues and events, as well as supported the development of corporate and commercial enterprises in the region. Projects that are helping to fuel the transportation, utilities, and healthcare infrastructures serving the country's 200+ million residents include: control room visual collaboration platforms help safeguard and manage efficient travel; best-in-class cinema projection and immersive sound systems enrich the movie-going experience; and innovative diagnostic, surgical, and clinical medical display systems ensure optimum healthcare.

"Barco has steadily grown its investment in the region, reflecting the company's commitment to Brazil as a premier market," says Ivan Cannau, vice president Latin America, who arrived in Brazil last year. "Barco has continued to grow market share in several key segments, by strengthening partnerships and growing our teams locally. We have increased strategically located parts depots, and are providing 24/7/365 onsite technical support through our service teams. In addition, Barco's installation and advanced service certification training is still expanding to support our growing installed bases."

Barco is also the main supplier for the country's primary traffic and transportation projects, providing collaborative visualization video wall solutions to Linha Amarela, CCR AutoBAn, SuperVia CCO, Concessionaria Auto Raposo Tavares (CART), Arteris and TransOlímpica Via Rio and Galeão airports, in addition to supporting Centro de Diagnosticos Brasil, the Brazilian Army Health Centers and Brazil's Institute for Research and Education in Diagnostic Medicine (IPmed) with innovative diagnostic medical display systems. Its simulation and training solutions can be found throughout the oil and gas industry, and in scientific research institutions, including Petrobras Research Centres, OGX Petroleo e Gas and Tecgraf, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. In the world of entertainment, Barco supplies event projectors for Adidas Brazuca, Globo TV, and Sensorama.
