PLASA Focus: Stamford Announces New Products and New Speakers

PLASA Focus: Stamford 2012 grows from strength to strength as new exhibitors and new seminar speakers join the party. PLASA Focus: Stamford will be the first regional PLASA event for the tri-state area and takes place just 30 minutes outside of New York City at the Stamford Marriott in Connecticut, on November 12-13.

Visitors to the show will be among the first to see many new products being displayed and demonstrated in the region for the first time, including the Hippotizer Version 3.2 Software on TMB's booth; LumenRadio's SuperNova; four additions to the ProPlex Devices range of tour-grade signal management systems; The Solaris Flare color strobe; the Schnick Schnack Systems LED accent lighting system, as well as a hands-on demonstration of Aereographer by Flying by Foy -- the world's most advanced design tool for flying automation, with many more announcements coming soon.

Several new exhibitors have joined a packed exhibitor hall, including support system gurus Applied Electronics; rigging systems provider J. R. Clancy; lighting specialists LSC Lighting Systems; mechanical flying innovators Flying by Foy; and lighting and fixtures designers 0energyLIGHTING. They will share the floor with other industry giants such as Clay Paky, Barbizon Lighting, d&b audiotechnik, TMB, CAST Software, Avolites, and many more.

Also free to attend, the PLASA professional development program runs alongside the exhibition and brings world-class professional knowledge to New York City's doorstep. More free sessions are now available to book online, including; "Demystifying Audio," presented by d&b audiotechnik; "Green(er) Theatre and Television in the Big City," presented by Broadway Green Alliance; "Coloring light -- Art Versus Science," presented by Rosco Laboratories; "Case Study -- Pershing Square Signature Center, New York," presented by Auerbach Pollock Friedlander; "The Birth, The Childhood, and the Apparent Adolescence of Lighting Design Technology," presented by CAST Group; "Advanced Mapping Techniques with Hippotizer Media Servers," presented by TMB for Green Hippo; and "The Art of Wireless Control by LumenRadio," presented by TMB for LumenRadio.

Other confirmed sessions include; "Architecture and The Art of Theatre Design," a keynote session presented by legendary lighting designer and one of the world's preeminent theatre consultants Richard Pilbrow; "Is Video Killing Theatre?" presented by Wendall Harrington; "Lighting Design: The Past, Present, and Future," presented by Don Holder; "What is a Network and Why Should I Care?" presented by John Huntington; "Heads Up!" presented by Bill Sapsis; "A Practical Guide to Starting a Career in Technical Theatre," presented by Steve Shelly; "Alternative Training Paths," presented by The Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas; and "Everything You've Always Wanted to Ask the IATSE" presented by Mark Kiracofe.

PLASA Focus: Stamford 2012 takes place 30 minutes outside of New York City, and the Stamford Marriot is within ten minutes walking distance of Stamford STM station. The hotel also provides a shuttle service for visitors.

With the biggest names in entertainment technology, two days of free sessions, and free refreshments, there's no better place to be this November. Free visitor registration is open now!
