The Great Comet Sweeps Elliot Norton Awards

The 34th annual Elliot Norton Awards winners were announced May 23 at Citi Shubert Theatre, Boston. The award for Outstanding Design, Large Theater was given to the team behind Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, including Mimi Lien for scenic design, Paloma Young for costumes, Bradley King for lighting, Matt Hubbs for sound, and Rachel Padula Shufelt for wigs and makeup. The production, which has already enjoyed a substantial Off Broadway run, opens at Broadway's Imperial Theatre on November 14. In addition, Mary Poppins took home the award for Outstanding Design, Midsize, Small or Fringe Theater.
