Barco Introduces Compact and High-Resolution Projectors

Barco's F50 compact 120 Hz, single-chip DLP projector

Barco, a provider of projection technology, has expanded its single-chip DLP projector line-up to now include F50 Panorama, WUXGA, and full HD models to meet a wide variety of demanding applications, from first-class exhibitions and high-end visitor attractions to corporate collaboration suites, 24/7 control rooms, and big data analytics labs. The new F50 range offers a unique combination of high resolution and active 3D stereo at higher frame rates in a small, quiet unit, ideal for professional-class venues where a powerful, yet unobtrusive visualization solution is needed.

"Barco is continually innovating its high-fidelity projector offering, and we are extremely excited about our latest additions, which represent a quantum leap in performance and image quality to expertly handle 3D and big data applications," comments Kristian Kolstad, director of product management at Barco. "The combination of these resolutions -- with active 3D stereo and high frame rates -- in such a compact footprint, delivers a comprehensive projector portfolio able to fulfill a wide range of visualization needs."

The Panorama (2,560 x 1,080), WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200), and full HD (1,920 x 1,080) models join Barco's existing F50 WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) projector, offering the ultimate reliability, image quality, and low noise operation to make each a star in its class. The F50 accommodates four different digital input sources including Display Port and HDBaseT for compatibility with the latest sources, eliminating the need for scaling while putting the highest resolution image on screen. The projector also comes with a wide range of expansion modules and high-performance lenses to deliver the ultimate flexibility.

The F50 range guarantees exceptional image quality, utilizing high-performance optics to deliver razor-sharp images that are equally rich in contrast and color saturation. RealColor color management and refresh rates up to 120Hz for all resolutions up to 2,560 x 1,600 ensures consistent performance with the added benefit of low noise levels.

Designed for 24/7 operation, the F50 is equipped with Texas Instruments' single-chip DLP technology, delivering constant image quality over time. Its unmatched reliability, filter-free design, and low maintenance requirements minimize the F50's total cost of ownership.

The projector's rugged design, interchangeable all-glass lenses, and high-performance expansion modules make it an extremely versatile product. It is equally suited to the demands of oil and gas simulation, scientific visualization, amusement park virtual worlds, and executive briefing centers.

The F50 will be on display at InfoComm 2014 in Barco booth C6308 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 18 - 20, and will be commercially available beginning July 2014.
