F35 WQXGA Projector Now Shipping from projectiondesign

The world's first 2,560 x 1,600 WQXGA resolution DLP projector is now available from projectiondesign.

"projectiondesign is known to be first with introducing the industry's most innovative products, and our F35 wqxga projector continues that tradition. The F35 wqxga was first shown in 2010 and it is now generally available. The release of our F35 wqxga benefits our customers with increased imaging performance and reduced operating costs for a wealth of applications," says Anders Løkke, international marketing and communications manager at projectiondesign.

Already deployed in advanced corporate AV, scientific visualization applications such as oil and gas exploration, simulation and visitor attractions, the projector has nearly double the pixel count of standard HD resolution projectors. This is of great benefit in visualization and simulation, where the emphasis is on fine detail and the accurate rendering of images, the company says.

The projector halves the need for projector channels in large visualization systems and reduces maintenance requirements twofold. In complex systems, the higher resolution enables fewer channels, fewer replacement lamps, less channels to align and half the calibration complexity. The F35 wqxga uses projectiondesign's proprietary RealColor color-management suite to further enable the matching of any number of channels.

The F35 wqxga uses the latest DLP technology from Texas Instruments, which was developed in conjunction with projectiondesign. Roger Carver, manager of DLP's front projector business at Texas Instruments, explains: "This is just the latest step in our excellent working relationship with projectiondesign. We see the company not just as a customer but as a truly innovative partner that contributes very significantly to the development of DLP products. And we believe that everyone who sees the F35 in action will see exactly what we mean -- it really is a stunning technological achievement."

The F35 wqxga features a wealth of high performance technology, not least its newly designed optics and lenses, all of which are invented to achieve increased contrast, color saturation, superior sharpness, and focus, the company says. "Users of the F35 wqxga projector are particularly interested in the high quality imaging it enables, and we are very particular about this aspect," adds Løkke. The projection lenses range from 0.8 : 1 up to 4.6 : 1 designed to fit a majority of installations.

The projector's newly designed signal processing doubles the input bandwidth of any competing projector, making it future proof, and truly compatible with nearly every high resolution input source. Other key specifications include brightness up to 7500 ANSI lumens -- thanks in part to projectiondesign's patented DuArch Dual Illumination Architecture as well as application specific color wheels, networking and remote asset management.
