The STRIKE V is the latest addition to CHAUVET Professional's STRIKE family of fixtures; the company says this motorized hybrid strobe-wash creates multi-layered looks that have never been seen before.

Key features include two layers of individually controllable RGBW LEDs (24 per layer) and a smart frost that can create zoomed-out flares. The variable electronic frost plate over the dual layers of pixels makes it possible to change beam angles at the press of a button while the LEDs' advanced optics can produce a stunning array of vibrant colors, the company says. A 180-degree titling fixture, the STRIKE V is billed as having powerful strobing capabilities to go with its performance as a color wash. (The top layer of LEDs is 6W and the bottom layer is 50W.)

As a color wash or strobe, the STRIKE V can create static effects or smooth motorized looks. It is also IP65-rated.

Designed to be at home in any setting, the unit features a magnetically attachable stealth filter to hide the LEDs when desired. It also has multiple mounting locations and a repositionable yoke with quarter-turn adaptors for convenient rigging options in vertical and horizontal orientations. Built-in alignment pins ensure safe linear arrays.

The 36lb unit is also described as easy to set up and tear down, which should make it attractive to road crews in the upcoming concert season.
