Chris Werner Design Rebrands as Lunar Telephone CompanyThe California-based firm Chris Werner Designer has rebranded itself as Lunar Telephone Company. In a statement, the company says, "Same team, with the same passion...Now, with a silly name, a broader mission, and even more enthusiasm. This evolution gives us the space to imagine, create, and dream even bigger." Chris Werner Design has won awards for such projects as the Grapevine, Texas, edition of Meow Wolf; Dior's Carousel of Dreams at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City; NightGarden in Miami, an LSA cover story in August 2020; Saks Fifth Avenue Theater of Dreams; the Norwegian Cruise Lines silent disco experience Crank Up the Silence; Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles; and the Winter Palace on Fifth display at Saks Fifth Avenue. P> "I found that keeping my name directly attached was a bit limiting," Werner says. "It felt like it was time to divorce my name from it (empowering the rest of the team) and remove 'design' (opening the doors a bit). It's time to grow." In a statement, the company says, "Here is what is not changing. We're still focused on themed entertainment, live entertainment, and architecture. We're still focused on creating memorable and maintainable experiences. We'll still bring the same creative thinking, standards of quality, and attention to detail that's won us international recognition from our colleagues. We still believe that big ideas need bold collaborators. We're still eager to create opportunities for the next generation of creators and rising stars. (See you in Vegas??) If we're in the middle of a project, we can probably complete that work under the existing contracts and terms. (Let's chat.)" The company's email addresses will use @lunartelephone.com, although the original @chriswernerdesign handle will still work for the present. Instagram and LinkedIn accounts will broadcast under @lunartelephone. The company's new website is www.lunartelephone.com.
