Lightfactor at PLASA 2011

The Novaligiht High-Ground

The UK- based professional lighting sales company Lightfactor will feature the latest products from its raft of international brands at the PLASA Show - September 11-14, Earls Court, London, including DTS, LDR, Integrated Technologies, and VXCO.

Lightfactor's sales team will be on hand to demonstrate all products and talk about projects and specifications.

New from DTS are the NICK LED color wash fixtures and the high powered compact JACK Spot moving lights -- and there will also be a few new surprise products.

The DTS NICK 600 WASH ZOOM is a self-contained compact dimensioned high-output LED wash moving head with a 13.5 - 40 degrees motorized zoom and a fast and silent pan/tilt. It is among the brightest compact LED projectors on the market with a luminous flux of 9.750 lumens. A color synthesis engine offers 16 million colors, a linear color temperature of between 2,800 degrees K and 6,500 degrees K and two color mixing modes -- RGBW and CMY. The company says its attractive aesthetics make it good for numerous installation applications including retail, commercial, heritage, exhibitions, clubs, restaurants, buildings, and monuments, and ideal for concerts shows and live events.

DTS's JACK Spot moving light is a high powered, compact, lightweight fixture using an advanced MSD Platinum 5R189 discharge light source and featuring a wide excursion motorized zoom and ultra-fast and silent pan/tilt. With a luminosity of 28,000 Lux at a distance of 16.4'and uniform projection, plus a 5 - 35 degree zoom range, it is suitable for large shows and stages. It has a combination of sharp overlapping gobo projections, a variety of colors and split-color beams and a host of other eye-catching effects.

As Novalight's UK distributor, Lightfactor says it has has enjoyed considerable success with its high powered High-Ground and Nova-Flower 2K range of moving lights, which have been used on many high profile tours and TV shows including U2's 360 tour, Simon Cowell's The X-Factor and The Paul O'Grady Show, seen on Britain's Channel 4.

The Nova-Flower 2K fixture was originally developed specially for show designer and LD Willie Williams for the U2 360 tour and then became a production model. It is billed as being a mega-bright fully programmable "flower effect" fixture with DMX controllable pan, tilt, color and shutter, along with other standard features. Using a 2,000W light source, this moving yoke fixture offers CMY mixing, rotating reflector (in both directions), pan/tilt, and remote lamp re-strike. Nova-Flower can be used on the floor or mounted on truss, and can also be run in stand-alone mode, programmed via the display buttons on its base. It has a weather-resistant IP 43 rating.

The DMX-controlled Novalight High-Ground utilizes a 2,000W MSR light source and outputs 174,000 lumens. The moving yoke version pans 540 degrees in 3.2 seconds and tilts 262 degrees in 2.9 seconds. The unit offers five dichroic colors and white, plus shutter and strobe effects.

From Integrated Technologies, Lightfactor will highlight the latest LED drivers, which can be phase-dimmed and controlled via DMX or DALI protocols.

Lightfactor will showcase Swiss manufacturer VXCO's latest control software, which has multiple new and flexible features, and will also feature their new, low-priced entry level 128-channel DMX dongle which is upgradable to 512 channels when the time comes to move up.

Examples on the booth from Italian manufacturer LDR's extensive ranges of theatrical and architainment luminaires will include followspots, profiles, Fresnels and PC fixtures, plus pole operated moving yokes, color scrollers, and dimming shutters.
