RealMotion Appoints Geoffrey Platt to Serve as Director

Geoffrey Platt, RealMotion

RealMotion, the new technology venture stemming from award-winning experiential design firm Float4, announces the appointment of industry veteran Geoffrey Platt to the position of director of RealMotion, according to Float4 founder Alexandre Simionescu.

"The stage is being set for a series of upgrades to the RealMotion platform, and Geoffrey Platt is going to play a critical role in helping us and our customers take full advantage of new and upcoming RealMotion capabilities that made their debut earlier this month at LDI 2018 in Las Vegas and then again at ISE 2019 in Amsterdam," Simionescu said.

Platt brings more than 20 years of experience to RealMotion. His background includes extensive involvement with media server technology, interactive digital installations, and product design for large-scale live events. During his time at Christie Digital, Platt was head of the award-winning Christie Pandora's Box Server system, which featured real-time compositing in 3D, projection mapping, and is used as a link between visual displays and digital image compositing.

According to Simionescu, Platt will be responsible for road mapping the progression of RealMotion, expanding its customer base across new market segments, and translating RealMotion's business objectives into revenue channels. In addition, he will manage and administer key strategies based on untapped consumer needs.

RealMotion was recently installed in Float4's colossal MERAAS City Walk, an interactive project in Dubai. RealMotion will power many of the interactive exhibits at The Statue of Liberty Museum, set to open in 2019, designed by FXCollaborative and ESI Designs, alongside Float4's production and integration teams. With Platt's new position as director, RealMotion will aim to become the leading name in real-time technology for fixed installation and live entertainment.

Headquartered in Montreal QC, Canada, RealMotion is the technology venture of the award-winning experiential design studio Float4. RealMotion's mission is to provide a superior real-time platform empowering ideation through the prototyping, execution, and monitoring of next generation immersive and interactive environments. Designed for both AV integrators and creative minds, the RealMotion platform is built to serve as the backbone of digital media production pipelines.
