Book Party Scheduled for Pilbrow's A Theatre Project

PLASA will host a book signing for A Theatre Project, a new memoir by industry veteran Richard Pilbrow.

The event will take place Monday, August 22, from 4-7pm at the PLASA office, 630 Ninth Avenue (between 44th-45th Streets), Suite 609.

Guests will have the opportunity to catch up with Pilbrow along with the PLASA, Lighting&Sound America, Protocol, and ESTA Foundation teams.

A Theatre Project, published by PLASA Media, recounts Pilbrow's careers as a lighting designer, theatre consultant, and producer; it also traces the rise, fall, and rise aain of his company, Theatre Projects. An excerpt from the book, featured in the August issue of Lighting&Sound America, can be viewed here .

In his introduction, Joseph Volpe writes, "A Theatre Project is also a window into one of the secrets of Richard Pilbrow's success and that is collaboration. No theatrical endeavor, whether it is a performance, a theatre, or performing arts center can be realized without collaboration . . . It is a true honor to call him a colleague and I must admit that his generosity and perseverance inspire. No one embodies the best of this crazy world of the theatre more than Richard Pilbrow."

The production designer Tony Walton comments, "The author of the book happens to be one of my favorite folks of all time. I can barely imagine any time more enjoyably spent than in reading what follows in the book . . . He is the MASTER . . . and, thank heaven, wonderfully silly with it. My life has benefitted immeasurably from his being embroiled in it, as my closest friend and colleague."

To attend the event, RSVP by August 15th to NYC@plasa.org

A Theatre Project's corporate sponsors include JR Clancy, ETC, Philips Entertainment, PRG, Rosco, Stage Technologies, White Light, and Wybron.
