Barco's Event Master Portfolio Extension Brings 4K Performance to All Shows

Barco, industry pioneer in image processing technology, enriches its Event Master portfolio of screen management systems with two additional models: the E2 Jr and S3-4K Jr. Building on their family members, the company says the new Jr models bring Barco's high-performance 4K image processing with a rapid return on investment. "This is realized through their strong acquisition price, easy and reliable show setup and production, market-valued performance, and their future-proof design for both evolving technology and show complexity." As such, the E2 Jr and S3-4K Jr are perfect for small to medium-size applications in the events market. The new products will begin shipping from June 2016.

"Redefining screen management, processing, and show control for live events, our Event Master product range was quickly embraced by the industry since the introduction of our flagship E2 system in December 2014. The new Jr models enable us to tap into additional market segments and to better serve video professionals with a wider range of event tools, from the most challenging setups to simple events," comments Chris Colpaert, VP image processing at Barco. Due to its modular design, the Event Master family excels in versatility and flexibility. That's why video professionals can easily upgrade their E2 Jr to a full E2 and the S3-4K Jr to the full S3-4K system according to their needs. All they have to do is simply purchase and install the additional cards into their system. The Event Master series cards are common across the entire product range.

Offering 16 inputs, eight outputs, and eight mixers, the E2 Jr features the same 4 RU form factor as its bigger E2 brother. The S3-4K Jr comes with eight inputs, four outputs, and two mixers in the same three-RU form factor as its bigger S3-4K brother. Just like the E2 and S3-4K, the Jr models are controlled from the same Event Master Toolset, a cross-platform GUI that provides an intuitive step-by-step approach to system configuration. Whether running on a Mac or Windows PC, the Event Master Toolset makes preset programming and system management effortless. The E2 Jr and S3-4K Jr are also compatible with the compact EC-50 and large EC-200 event controllers.

4K resolution is becoming mainstream in the AV world.
