LDR at the Vanemuine Theatre, Estonia

The Vanemuine Theatre in Tartu, Estonia is one of the oldest and prestigious theatre of all the Baltic republics. Originally built in 1865, it survived 50 years of Soviet occupation, retaining its essential character.

Through the local agent E&T, a large variety of LDR double optic condenser profiles, Fresnels, PCs, and cyc lights have been installed in the theatre.

"The Vanemuine Theatre was looking to replace and improve the existing lighting stage inventory," says Fabiano Besio, of LDR. "The installation proved to be successful, and I'm proud to know that LDR fits and exceed the theatre's needs."

Besio adds, "In a time where people forget the basic concepts of lighting, I still believe in my motto, 'the proper light in the proper place, and here comes magic.' In the LDR catalogue, you won't find ultra-fashionable LED-devices. We remember to not downplay the magic that only conventional lights can offer.

"Today," he adds, "everybody passes on LEDs, and tomorrow, will move on to other revolutionary technologies. But what about those who don't need this revolution? Light-emitting-diodes, are a fascinating technology, but, when it comes to precise illuminating devices for theatre stage, most LEDs fall out of the race: their equipment just doesn't meet the required standards."

LDR's products are distributed in the U. S. by Strong Entertainment Lighting.
