dBTechnologies Expands VIO Operator Certification Across the US; Final 2025 Academy Lands in the Southeast dBTechnologies continues to expand its VIO Academy Operator Certification Program, an initiative designed to unify best practices in system deployment and elevate technical standards among engineers working with the company's VIO touring systems worldwide. The final US training of 2025 will be held December 10-11 in North Carolina, co-hosted with HWPco, dBTechnologies USA's representative firm for the region. The certification follows a public open demo day at the Classic Center Theatre in Athens, Georgia, on December 9, where audio professionals will experience a complete VIO touring rig and more, in a real-world performance environment. Attendance for DEMO DAY is free with registration: Sign up here. The North Carolina Academy concludes a year of rapid program growth across the US, including fully sold-out sessions in Wisconsin, California, and Texas. Each Academy drew system owners, front-of-house engineers, integrators, rental partners, and venue technicians for two days of hands-on deployment, prediction workflows, and loudspeaker optimization. Among line-array theory and operational disciplines, the VIO Academy curriculum blends Aurora Net control, EASE Focus prediction, orchestration of mixed VIO families, cardioid sub configuration, and venue-specific optimization strategies. The purpose: to establish a uniform operational language for VIO professionals across the globe. "It's encouraging to see such a wide range of engineers -- from senior touring mixers to new system techs -- absorbing the same optimization philosophy and workflow," says Andy Tindall, senior applications engineer for dBTechnologies USA, who assists in teaching the sessions alongside head of global education Marco Cantalu. "We don't just cover 'how to deploy.' We spend two days explaining why the system behaves the way it does in different environments. Once operators understand that they can deliver consistent sonic results anywhere in the world." Each participant receives an official VIO Operator Level 1 and 2 certification, added to a growing international database of certified operators that touring companies can reference when hiring system techs and engineers. "Our goal is consistency," explains Marco Cantalu. "Whether someone walks into a venue in Milan, Miami, or Mexico City, the outcome should feel familiar. Certified operators help us guarantee that a VIO system performs the same way, show after show, city after city." Seats for the Southeast Academy are now sold out.
