Doughty's Scaff Boom Arm and Fifty Clamp Set to Make Waves at LDI

Doughty Engineering's newest pieces of kit -- the Scaff Boom Arm and Fifty Clamp are set to take center stage on the company's booth 2424 at this year's LDI Show. This is the first time the Scaff Boom Arm will be seen in the US and, along with the Fifty Clamp, which debuted on Doughty's booth in 2018, will be the company's star attractions.

Mark Chorley, design engineer at Doughty says: "We're really focusing on these two products this year. The Fifty Clamp was launched last year and has been really well received by customers looking for a clamp that had the ability to support a greater SWL than our best-selling Twenty Clamp. The Fifty Clamp is in stock and ready for shipping, and we feel it's important to keep promoting the usefulness of this piece of kit as there will likely be some people who aren't aware it exists."

The Fifty Clamp has TUV approval, a safe working load of 50kg and has been designed to fit tube diameter 38mm -- 51mm. Made from pressure die cast aluminum ensures it prevents damage to thin wall truss. It is captive with M10 or M12 bolts and comes supplied with an M10 fixing kit.

The Scaff Boom Arm has been a real talking point for Doughty customers since its launch this spring. It has been designed in response to customer demand -- and is seen as a "get out of jail item," which will allow a rigger to fashion their own boom arm out of materials they have to hand and simply cut it down to size. It will take 48mm aluminum barrel or scaff tube and is the perfect addition to any toolkit.

While Doughty is unable to quote a safe working load for the product, each piece of kit comes with a loading chart, which is also available in Doughty's Little Blue Book catalogue and on the company's website. Chorley adds: "We have to make sure that all bases are covered. While we cannot predict how the product will be used, we have tested several different tubes of different sizes and suggested a SWL. Of course, if our customers have any questions they can get in touch at any time. Both Julian and I will be on hand for the duration of LDI to handle any queries and we would encourage our existing and potential new customers to come and chat to us in person and get a proper look at the kit."

Julian Chiverton, sales director, says: "We're anticipating a very busy few days in Las Vegas -- we expect our new items to get lots of attention but also appreciate that kit, which has been a part of our range for years will also get lots of queries too -- it's the success of these, and their reputation as quality, reliable products, that mean our customers return to us time and time again. LDI served as the perfect platform to launch the Fifty Clamp last year and we look forward to bringing it back as a star attraction, along with giving the Scaff Boom Arm its first LDI showing."
