ALPS has recently appointed Ethan Gilson to a newly created position as the company's rigging specialist. An ETCP Certified Rigger and Recognized trainer, Gilson has been with the company since 1999, where he worked a lighting designer and production rigger for the events department. He is currently a voting member of the PLASA Rigging Working Group and has chaired task groups in the development of ANSI Standards for rigging in the entertainment industry.

In this new role, Gilson will be responsible for overseeing the rigging needs, policies, and procedures of all ALPS departments. This will include rigging systems design and implementation for installations, live event rigging services, design consultation for rental clients, rigging inspections, personal fall-arrest system design, as well as continuing to grow the organization's educational arm, ALPS Academy -- Entertainment Rigging Sessions.

Steven Way, president of ALPS commented: "Over the years Ethan has grown to be one of the leading and respected riggers in the New England market. We look forward to using his expertise to enhance and expand our rigging services and educational offerings to clients."
