Countryman Microphone Integral to Performances of Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton

Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton performing with his Countryman ISOMAX headset mic.

Slide guitarist / vocalist Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton's musical act is unlike any other. The inventor of "gastronomical boogie woogie," Wharton performs an engaging mix of his own swampy Florida blues while cooking a big pot of gumbo and serving it to the audience. Wharton's "Sauce Boss" events are a soul-shouting picnic of rock and roll brotherhood -- and at the end of the show, everyone eats. Between the musical performance and the cooking, Wharton's headset microphone is an integral part to keeping it all moving and, for this, he relies on his ISOMAX headset mic from Menlo Park, California-based Countryman Associates.

Wharton says, "I'm cookin' and playin' guitar and singin' all at the same time. I need my hands free -- and the Countryman ISOMAX headset mic is the perfect solution. As a performer, I'm all over the stage as well as going into the audience during these events, so the Countryman mic works really well for me."

According to Wharton, he also volunteers his time and energy to Planet Gumbo (http://planetgumbo.org), a 501c3 non-profit organization. Wharton reports, "We bring a lot of enjoyment to needy people in homeless shelters and soup kitchens while helping them get a good meal. A soup kitchen or homeless shelter presents its own demands on a microphone, in terms of feedback and its ability to consistently sound good. I depend on the mic's quality and its dynamic range. The combination of the Countryman ISOMAX headset mic and my Shure UHF J4 wireless system provides the freedom to move around while delivering clear, natural sounding audio. The Countryman ISOMAX headset is, by far, the easiest and highest quality wireless microphone I have ever used for my show."

Wharton reports that he's been using Countryman's ISOMAX headset microphone for a good ten years. "In all this time" he says, "I've had very little reason to call the company. On the few occasions that I have called, Countryman's technical support has been great."

Before shifting his focus in order to prepare for an upcoming performance, Wharton offered these final thoughts about his experience with the Countryman ISOMAX headset microphone. "A good sounding, comfortable headset mic is not easy to come by," he said. "I've experimented with many different microphones and I have never come across one that meets my needs as well as my ISOMAX does. This mic delivers great audio quality, and it's engineered to provide a secure, comfortable fit, and... less feedback!"
