High End Systems Uno Debuts on Eurovision 2016

For the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest finals held last month in Stockholm, Sweden, technical director Ola Melzig used 108 Uno fixtures from High End System for UK performers Joe and Jake. The duo's rendition of "You're Not Alone" served as the new fixture's debut, and the Eurovision team once again pulled together a stunning collective of production elements for the highly anticipated contest.

The Unos were specified by Melzig and were used exclusively for the UK song, placed along the front sides of two drum risers for tight beam looks and effects. The UK delegation wanted a small, compact and bright fixture for the drum risers, and they first requested Aryton Magic-dots; Melzig already had many of these fixtures installed in the floor of the stage. He comments, "I have the unique privilege of living in Austin part time, so whenever I have a chance I'll go visit High End to see what they've got brewing. I was shown the Uno earlier this year, and knew it was one of those products that would serve a special purpose. So when the UK delegation brought this up, instead of the Magic-dots I recommended the High End Uno. It's brighter and tighter, enough said. Everyone was very happy with this solution, and it looked fantastic on stage."
