WorldStage SF Hosts Spring Technology Open House

WorldStage San Francisco, formerly Tekamaki, hosted the spring edition of its Technology Open House in its San Carlos, California location. The semi-annual event brought together the top technical minds from all five WorldStage locations. They demonstrated a cross-section of new off-the-shelf technology, custom technology, and R&D projects from the WorldStage Inventions and Lab teams.

Whether attendees were looking for innovative, show-ready products, or eager to get a glimpse of what the future has in store, there was something for everybody at the Technology Open House.

With a reputation as a resource for LED display technology, WorldStage showcased an array of Unilumin products: Unilumin 1.2, the ultimate high-res LED display; Unilumin U3 3.7mm LED tile, and Hybrid 18, which integrates multiple LED displays with LED Spotlight.

WorldStage also demonstrated the popular Christie Boxer 4K30, the market's most advanced 4K projector and the smallest and most efficient 30,000-lumen projector available today.

Attendees flocked to the Mini Immersive Gaming Theater, a scaleable, turnkey system with stereoscopic immersive display. They were also dazzled by the DF78 LED floor, a 7mm touch floor that reacts to the user's weight as they move through space; WorldStage is taking orders for the floor, which will be available in 2017.

More innovations included Polux, a sculptural custom LCD system that creates images which appear to jump off the screen; the compact, portable Pylon short-throw projector system that creates projection opportunities in venues usually unable to accommodate projection; and Display and Life's Blackbird 80 and Blackbird 55, 80" and 55" transparent HD displays.

WorldStage SF also demonstrated its Pre-Viz VR tool. Using Google Cardboard, it turns a d3 Technologies previsualization fly-through into a walkable experience that clients can access with a URL and their cell phones.

The WorldStage Inventions group, a collective of creative minds with extensive R&D capabilities, unveiled a trio of interactive products under development: Bouncy Beat, which synchronizes trampoline jumps to music; Button Box, a custom VJ app for iPhone slo motion video; and ViCTiS, a Video Capture and Time Scrambler that streams slo-mo video in real-time for live playback synchronized with an audio track.

Attendees gave the WorldStage Technology Open House rave reviews and can't wait to see what's in store at the next open house this fall.
