LDI 2019 to Focus on the Future of Design and Technology

LDI exhibition show floor 2018.

LDI is enhancing its offering this November with an emphasis on the next generation of design and technology, including AR/VR, drones, live for broadcast, and experiential design.

Organizers say that these emerging technologies and disciplines will shape the future of live events and are therefore placing LDI as the place to discover what's hot and what's next. More details on these exciting new subjects will be unveiled once registration officially opens in July.

The future-focus will be in addition to LDI's ongoing commitment to the core live event categories of lighting, staging, video, and sound.

The 32nd edition of this major entertainment design and technology trade show and conference runs November 18 - 24, 2019 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"We're excited to look to the next 30 years of LDI, developing the trade show into a multi-layered series of events where designers, programmers, technicians, and other artisans can experience not only the best in live production today, but also learn about where live production is headed tomorrow," says David Johnson, managing director of LDI and the Live Experience Group. "These new initiatives, coupled with our industry standard professional training and the coolest-looking show floor in this or any market, will make LDI the must-attend industry event for years to come."

More than 15,000 industry professionals are expected to descend upon Las Vegas this November to check out more than 350 exhibitors showcasing the very latest technologies and services for live event production. In addition, they will have access to the conference and professional training programs, which offer an unrivalled range of subjects for those looking to learn, discover, and develop.

LDI will officially open with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 11:00am on Friday, November 22, with the exhibition hall open from November 22 - 24. Special events include the popular New Technology Breakfasts, offering early-bird sneak previews of new technology on the show floor: the Lighting and Projection breakfast is on Friday, November 22, 9:00 - 11:00am; Audio, Staging, and Rigging is on Saturday, November 23, 9:00 - 10:00am; and Special Effects and Lasers is on Saturday, November 23, 10:00 - 11:00am.

A series of additional events are also scheduled as part of the week-long LDI show, including the LDInstitute and LDIntensives from November 18 - 23 and the LDInnovation Conference from November 21 - 23. These events offer highly sought-after professional development opportunities, including site-specific case studies, hands-on technology training, behind-the-scenes tours, and panel discussions. Although registration doesn't officially open until July, attendees familiar with the high quality of the show's conference content can register now at highly competitive confidence rates.

LDI: Live Outside runs on November 22 - 23, focusing on audio, sound, and staging systems for outdoor events and festivals. Coinciding with LDI: Live Outside is LDI Amplify, which will see leading audio manufacturers showcase the latest live sound solutions and delivering valuable training sessions and seminars.

The LDI Debuting Products and Booth Awards Ceremony is back for 2019, and will be presented on the show floor at the end of the day on Saturday, November 23.

The second Knight of Illumination Awards USA will take place during LDI, this year at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, November 22. These highly respected, peer-judged awards honor the very best in lighting and video design in three categories: Theatre, Concert Touring and Events, and Live for Broadcast. Nominations are currently being accepted in all categories.

Registration is required to attend the exhibition show and most events. And as a reminder: Attendees can register now for a Conference Confidence Badge for just $495 (a $695 value) or a free exhibit hall pass. Visit the LDIShow.com/ldi19 for more information.
