Meyer Sound D-Mitri Wins InAVation Award

D-Mitri, Meyer Sound's new digital audio platform, received an InAVation Award for Most InAVative Commercial Audio Product (non-loudspeaker). The award was bestowed during the fifth annual InAVation Awards ceremonies, held on February 2 in conjunction with the ISE show in Amsterdam. The AVB (Audio Video Bridging) networking standard, which is incorporated in D-Mitri and CAL column array loudspeaker, won an InAVation Award for Breakthrough Technology of the Year.

"This InAVation Awardreflects the creative engineering and hard work of our entire D-Mitri team," says ,b>John McMahon, Meyer Sound's executive director, digital products. "D-Mitri represents not only the future of Meyer Sound digital systems, but with its open architecture, it also will be the keystone element in complex networked installations involving multiple AV and IT vendors."

A complete D-Mitri system integrates Gigabit network technology with a family of processing and input/output devices, a suite of high-quality signal processing firmware, and adaptable control software. Notable features include high resolution audio (96 kHz sampling with up to 64-bit floating point processing), simultaneous multichannel recording and playback, extensive user programmability, and options for hosting Constellation capabilities. D-Mitri can be set up in a centralized processing scheme, a distributed design, or a hybrid of the two, using the emerging AVB standard for connecting all devices.
