Sound Image Appoints Industry Veteran to Lead Integration Division

Sound Image of Escondido, California, announces the appointment of Laurence Italia to vice president of its integration division. In this new position, Italia will be responsible for new business development for Sound Image Integration as well as assuming management of the day-to-day business and staff.

"Larry has strong ties in the industry, specifically tour and install sound, and with his vast knowledge in marketing of installation products from sales through system design, we know he will be a tremendous asset to our team," states president and CEO, Dave Shadoan.

Having spent over 28 years at Yamaha Corporation of America, most recently serving as vice president/general manager of Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc., he was responsible for the significant growth of the company and its Yamaha Commercial Audio products including NEXO speaker products. Italia was also instrumental in providing design recommendations for its now famous PM1D, PM5D, M7CL, LS9, and the new Rivage PM10 digital audio consoles. Under his direction, the Yamaha CIS (commercial installations solutions) product line was launched within North America along with the NUAGE advanced digital audio production DAW system, a collaborative effort between Yamaha and Steinberg.

Sound Image spent its first 20 years perfecting the tour production side of the industry. The company then expanded into the systems integration business, developing an impressive portfolio of installations of all types.

Sound Image Integration anticipates strong growth with Italia at the helm. He will lead a veteran team of accomplished and experienced project managers, project engineers, and sales engineers who will drive the planned growth.

Italia will begin his new role immediately.
