Graceland Soundstage Keeps the Music Alive with Adamson

As the longtime home of Elvis Presley, Graceland is the most famous rock 'n' roll residence in the world, welcoming well over a half-million visitors to Memphis, Tennessee every year. While there's certainly no shortage of onsite attractions for fans of the King of Rock 'n' Roll, the Graceland Soundstage is definitely one of the most impressive, and with a new audio system from Adamson Systems Engineering, it's primed to keep the music alive and loud.

"Graceland is synonymous with good music, so when it came to choosing an audio system for our new Soundstage, compromise wasn't an option," begins Joel Weinshanker, the head of Elvis Presley Enterprises. "Our Adamson S-Series system offers outstanding audio quality, and whether it's a live concert, film screening, or corporate gala, we know that anyone enjoying an event in the Soundstage is getting the best possible experience."

A 20,000-sq.-ft. performance venue and event space, the Graceland Soundstage is one of the top concert and entertainment destinations in Memphis. Some of the biggest names in music have graced its stage, with the likes of Boz Scaggs, Brian Setzer, Buckcherry, Chubby Checker, Frank Turner, and George Thorogood all set to perform in the coming months.

The Adamson system that will support those shows and many more was designed and installed by Cleveland, Ohio's Eighth Day Sound, and features main hangs of 12 S10 two-way, full-range cabinets per side. Four E219 subwoofers are loaded underneath the stage for low-end support and four IS7p two-way, full-range point source cabinets handle front fill duties.

The stage monitoring package is also anchored by Adamson and includes 12 Adamson M12-A two-way monitor speakers and a pair of Point 215 subwoofers for drum subs.

"When Joel and the team at Graceland told us what they needed for their main events space, we knew that the Adamson S-Series was the perfect solution," comments Tom George, director of installations for Eighth Day Sound. "The S-Series packs a serious punch in a sleek, compact cabinet and has proven itself time and again on top international tours. It looks great in the Graceland Soundstage and sounds even better."

"Needless to say, we take music pretty seriously at Adamson, so the opportunity to be a part of the history of rock and roll at Graceland is a special one," adds Adamson CEO Marc Bertrand. "We're proud to count Eighth Day Sound as one of our partners, and join them in welcoming Graceland to the Adamson Network."
