Mega-Lite on Tour with New Found Glory

New Found Glory (NFG) is an American rock band originally from Coral Springs, Florida. With the help of JDI Productions Inc for the second time, NFG has been on the From the Screen to your Stereo to your Town Tour that includes 34 shows in North America. JDI Productions Inc is a lighting production company based out of Cranston, Rhode Island that has helped produce numerous events. In their current tour with NFG, JDI Productions has included six of the Mega-Lite Circa Scoop LEDs and six XS LED Strobe RGB.

The Circa Scoop LED is a next-level unit designed with four different elements and a variety of technological components that add a one of a kind look to any application. It features 45 WW and Amber LEDs in the Center Engine, 87 WW LEDs in the Reflective Pattern Ring, 144 RGB LEDs in the Inner ring and 192 RGB LEDs on the Outer Ring. It can produce multiple color combinations and facilitate the ability to create authentic looks that can be used as dazzling eye-candy effects. This unit was chosen by JDI Productions lighting designer Megan Alksninis, who has been designing for three years. She chose these units almost a year in advance to be used in this concert due to its retro appearance and unique capabilities.

"They are an extremely versatile light with many different looks for a static light. This tour was designed with an old school movie feel and the LED bulb in the center of the light gives a classic feel with a modern twist," says Alksninis. "NFG plays 22 songs each night and the Circa Scoops allow me to make each song unique."

In addition to the Circas, Alksninis also chose the XS LED Strobe RGB units that are mainly used as a wash light during the show. This unit is an immensely bright and multi-purpose fixture that is equipped with a total of 324 RGB SMD LEDs. With a 140-degree angle, it can operate as a wash or strobe. It features three segment control that allow for the creation of chases and eye-catching effects.

"I was very impressed at the output of such a small fixture," says Alksninis. "They completely engulf the stage in color. I like how each fixture has three separate blocks of controllable color, it provides more ways to make the show look crazy."

Other than her satisfaction with the Mega units, Alksninis also expresses her satisfaction with the company.

"As a designer I have been very pleased with Mega Systems Inc. They are very quick to help with issues and provided speedy service for replacement parts. Their lights standout and the team behind the products have proven to value their customers."

With the tour coming to an end this summer, JDI Productions general manager Derek Iorfida has also been satisfied with the Mega-Lite products and is excited for the future of Mega Systems.

"We have recently discovered a number of Mega Systems Inc products which have taken our tours to the next level," says Iorfida. "We are very excited to see how the company grows in the future."
