Stingaree, Famed Nightlife Destination, Uses Projection Mapping Techcnology in New Ultra Lounge Venue

AV Concepts reports that GuestHouse at Stingaree is the first nightclub in the country to utilize its projection mapping technology to enhance the club's design and guests' nightlife experience. The AV Concepts team has digitally mapped, projected onto, and created content for locations and surfaces around the world including on buildings, vehicles, and even a massive aircraft carrier.

"During an initial GuestHouse construction site visit, AV Concepts' creative director, Curt Apanovich, discussed 'bringing the walls to life' with a massive, custom seamless projection system. We were so excited about the concept that we green lit the project immediately. The final result of their efforts is a visual display like no other. It completely transforms GuestHouse, and takes us to a new level of entertainment," said James Brennan, partner of Enlightened Hospitality Group.

Effectively turning GuestHouse's architecture into a massive digital canvas, AV Concepts created a custom 90' wide, seamlessly mapped and blended projection surface covering 75% of the lofty wall space. Utilizing multiple HD projectors, a custom AV Concepts "Scenic HD" server and content designed specifically for the venue, GuestHouse harnesses the ability to transform its look and feel instantly. AVC's media manage,r Ryan Raitt, created custom programming to make the system user-friendly and completely controllable from a laptop in the DJ Booth. Projected images, such as the San Diego skyline and champagne bottles pouring over patrons' tables, stay fresh throughout the night with signature content and full 3D animations.

"The team at GuestHouse gave us full support and creative freedom, resulting in a completely immersive and evolving environment that will make any club-goer stop and stare," said Apanovich. "The technical team we employed for this project has accomplished some of the most challenging projection jobs in the world, and we are proud to have been a part in the creation of such a unique and innovative venue."
