Grund Audio Design Announces Two New Floor Monitors

Grund Audio Design, a manufacturer of loudspeaker and signal processing products for the audio professional, announces the GT-1220M and GT-1520M floor monitors --- the company's latest additions to their GT Series floor monitor product group.

The new Grund Audio Design GT-1220M and GT-1520M floor monitors are designed for near field applications where smooth, dynamic range is required. These floor monitors are capable of high output for a full stage mix of vocals, drums, keyboards, guitars, and bass. These loudspeakers are well-suited for side-fill or delay monitoring applications. With wide-range dispersion characteristics, the GT-1220M and GT-1520M also ship with pole cups integrated into the enclosures -- making them a terrific choice for 'speaker on a stick' general purpose PA system applications.

The Grund Audio Design GT-1220M floor monitor's components include a 12" high excursion, low frequency transducer mated with a 2" compression driver that is coupled to a controlled pattern horn for crystal clear high frequency reproduction, the company says. The GT-1520M floor monitor provides a 15" high excursion, low frequency transducer mated with a 2" compression driver/horn combination. Both the GT-1220M and GT-1520M floor monitors feature 40-degree horizontal and 80-degree vertical dispersion patterns.

The new GT-1220M and GT-1520M floor monitors have a 450W power handling capability with a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms. Frequency response for both models is rated at 50Hz - 18kHz. Each enclosure provides two Neutrik NL4 Speakon connectors plus a biamp switch.

Both the GT-1220M and GT-1520M floor monitor systems are two-way, bass reflex designs constructed with multi-ply Baltic Birch wood that is heavily braced for cabinet rigidity. These enclosures are available in three standard finishes: black, white, or natural (ready-to-stain). The transducer compliment is protected with a powder-coated, perforated steel grille. With their dual angle enclosure design, the company says the GT-1220M and GT-1520M floor monitors make it easy to position the loudspeakers for maximum on-stage effectiveness while maintaining a low profile for a clean stage presence. For fixed installations, these loudspeaker enclosures are available with optional 2 x 2 suspension, 3/8"-16 threaded mounting points.

Frank Grund, president of Grund Audio Design, commented on the company's new GT-1220M and GT-1520M floor monitors: "The GT-1220M and GT-1520M are extremely versatile loudspeaker systems," said Grund. "They provide the articulation and punch required in high SPL performances and their controlled pattern horns enable one to achieve high on-stage SPL levels before feedback. In addition to their primary function as floor monitors, both models can serve double duty as general purpose PA loudspeakers. With their integrated pole cups, they can be positioned on floor stands and elevated. Similarly, these loudspeakers can be suspended via optional threaded mounting points -- making them a viable choice for fixed installation sound reinforcement purposes."
