Audio-Technica Reintroduces ATM25 Hypercardioid Dynamic Instrument MicrophoneAudio-Technica has announced the reintroduction of a beloved legacy product: the ATM25 hypercardioid dynamic instrument microphone, a popular choice for drummers and those who capture kick drums, among other applications. This classic kick-drum mic, first introduced in 1983, has been relied upon by countless engineers and musicians for its warm, full-bodied punch and rugged reliability - and it now fully returns to the A-T lineup. Designed for focused capture of high SPLs at close range, this hypercardioid dynamic microphone is ideal for kick drums, but it also excels at capturing toms, brass, and other highly dynamic instruments. The ATM25 is also well suited for miking electric guitar and bass cabinets. Its ability to handle high sound pressure levels, combined with a warm, full-bodied low-frequency response and tightly focused hypercardioid polar pattern, allows the microphone to capture high-output sources with exceptional clarity, definition and impact, while providing effective rejection of unwanted off-axis sound. Additionally, the ATM25 works well for close-up voiceover and radio broadcast work. "We've changed nothing," remarks Audio-Technica US senior marketing manager Gary Boss. "This is the classic ATM25, made in Japan, following our original design. It features all-metal construction with an integral stand clamp and is ready to handle anything you throw at it -- in the studio, on the stage, or traveling in between."
