New Improved Chauvet Arena to Showcase Latest Chauvet Professional Fixtures at BPM | PRO

Chauvet Professional's MK2 Wash luminaire

This year's BPM | PRO, which is to take place September 11 - 13 at the NEC, Birmingham, will be the largest incarnation of the show to date. Once again, the central focus of the show will be the Chauvet Arena, which will be hosted this year in the larger and more impressive 16,000 capacity NEC Genting Arena.

Chauvet Professional will honor the new location in style with an impressive array of new fixtures in one spectacular stadium-ready lighting concept, including: the Maverick MK2 Wash and MK2 Spot, STRIKE 1, Rogue R1 FX-B, and Ovation E-910FC.

According to Chauvet Professional European product expert Sam Bowden, the new arena presented the team at Chauvet Professional with the ultimate opportunity to see the latest fixtures hands-on in their natural habitat. "When we learned of BPM | PRO's expansion plans for the Chauvet Arena, we realized we could create something on an entirely different scale this year," commented Bowden. "As a result, we've gone for a lighting concept worthy of any large stadium tour. The Chauvet Professional fixtures we've chosen to install reflect this."

The following new products will be on display at the Chauvet Arena.

Maverick MK2 Spot: Launched at Frankfurt's Prolight + Sound along with the Maverick MK2 Wash this year to a rapturous reception, the stunningly bright and precision engineered Maverick MK2 Spot sets new standards in moving head LED spots. Powered by a 440W LED engine, this fixture boasts a CMY+CTO color mixing system, two six position rotating slot and lock gobo wheels, a seven position plus white color wheel, variable frost, and three-facet prism. All of this projected through a 13- to 37-degree zoom system. With the ability to control the Maverick MK2 Spot over DMX, Art-Net, sACN, or by WDMX, there is an option for every situation. As an added feature, this luminaire can receive Art-Net in and send out DMX simplifying cable runs.

Maverick MK2 Wash: The Maverick MK2 Wash rewrites the rules on wash fixtures with its flawlessly even output, custom designed optics, full pixel mapping, virtual gobo wheel with background colors, pre-programmed colors and 7- to 49-degree zoom range. Powered by 12 40W Osram RGBW LEDs, it has the muscle to handle any application, even aerial washing, with ease. With DMX, sACN, Art-Net, Kling-Net, or WDMX capabilities, the MK2 Wash can adapt to any rig.

STRIKE 1: From the same family as the acclaimed STRIKE 4, the STRIKE 1 is a blinder powered by an intense 230W warm white LED source. This fixture not only makes a great blinder, but also an excellent strobe or even a wide area flood light. The STRIKE 1 is IP65 rated and features an IP rated fan to keep the fixture cool enough to use as a wash, along with IP rated direct power and DMX connections, eliminating annoying whips. An emulated "red shift" warms the color temperature of the light as it dims to mimic incandescent lights perfectly.

Rogue R1 FX-B: The ROGUE R1 FX-B is one of Chauvet Professional's most versatile fixtures, orchestrating an infinite rotation of both pan and tilt for its five individually controlled heads, each powered by a pixel mappable 15W RGBW LED. Crisp beams, a sizzling output, and rocket quick movements create amazing aerial effects. Control is achieved with DMX, Art-Net, sACN, or Kling-Net.

Ovation E-910FC: From the Ovation theatre-ready ellipsoidal range, Ovation E-910FC is a fully featured color mixing ERS-style fixture. It features full RGBA-Lime color mixing with output rivalling an incandescent fixture. Sacrifice nothing when it comes to control options with modes providing full 16-bit dimming (per color and master), selectable PWM, RDM, and on-board dimming curve selection. Also accessible is the company's virtual color wheel, which matches popular gel colors when projected by a tungsten source, in addition, there are added color temperature presets from 2,800K to 6,500K that match a tungsten source to perfection.

In addition to DJ competitions, parties and workshops; guests will have several opportunities to see the Chauvet Arena light show at the following times:
Sunday, September 11 -- 12:55pm and 5:00pm (prior to the Dance Classics Party)
Monday, September 12 -- 1:00pm and 3:00pm
Tuesday, September 13 -- 1:00pm and 3:00pm

"We're very enthused about our new products being presented in the larger and improved Chauvet Arena this year," said Chauvet Europe general manager Michael Brooksbank. "It should be a very busy show for Chauvet Professional. We hope to see you all in the Chauvet Arena!"
