Bandit and Pulse Light New Year's Eve Show with Old Crow Medicine Show

Old Crow Medicine Show on New Year's Eve at the Ryman Auditorium.

Old Crow Medicine Show continued its seven year tradition of helping Nashville ring in the New Year with a two night performance at The Ryman Auditorium. Bandit Lites partnered once again with Pulse Lighting to provide a lighting package for the Americana band, who shared they have no intention of spending New Year's anywhere else.

"I don't wanna ring in the New Year downtown in front of 100,000 people," said frontman Ketch Secor in a video filmed at the Ryman before the show. "I wanna do it here at the Ryman. That's where I belong. And there's where this music belongs. And that's where Nashville belongs."

Bandit provided lighting designer Michael Cummings Bandit 5x5s, ETC Source Four Pars (both with and without lenses), Eurolite STP-10s, and five 14' pipe and bases. Additional fixtures from Pulse included GLP X4S and GLP Bar 10s and an Avolite Sapphire Touch for control.

"Old Crow Medicine Show always wants a vintage look with a lot of warm tungsten light," said Cummings when describing the look of the show. "We went with the "Rhinestone" era of country music for New Year's Eve including late 70s and early 80s.

The one challenge Cummings faced was yoking heavy fixtures to the pipes, a problem that Bandit's project manager, Jimmy Hatten solved by using cantilever base plates in stock from a previous show.

"As always Bandit's team was exceptional to work with," finished Cummings. "I can never say enough about how much Brent Barrett has contributed to the success of our shows together, and although this was our first time working with Jimmy in this capacity, he exceeded all of our expectations and we look forward to working on future projects with him."

Old Crow Medicine Show's performance marked the beginning of a slight reprieve from touring before they had back on the road in April of 2016. A complete schedule can be found at the URL below.
