Nat Houle Appointed as US Product Support Specialist for Martin Audio and TiMax

Nat Houle

Martin Audio has announced the appointment of Nat Houle as product support specialist, a move designed to further bolster the sales and deployment of Martin Audio and TiMax spatial solutions across the US and Canada.

A 2025 USITT Rising Star winner for sound design, Houle brings a distinguished background in creative sound design to the role, with a specific technical expertise and passionate advocacy for immersive audio.

As a student at the State University of New York at New Paltz, Houle's university thesis -- "Spatialized Theatrical Experiences: Concepts and Discoveries in Object-Based Sound Design" -- led directly to the creation of her website NMH Spatial, a free-to-access resource combining subjective discussions on the dramaturgical use of spatial audio with research-backed scientific insight.

"Working for a manufacturer has been a dream of mine for several years now, starting with my graduate school experience at the University of California, Irvine, where I focused my thesis on spatial audio modalities," comments Houle. "I am keenly interested in how sound prediction tools relate to spatial audio and how the technology can be further improved and adopted in our industry. I hope to encourage the use of it through my work with Martin and TiMax."

In her new position, Houle will work in conjunction with the US sales team, distributors, and dealers to provide technical support and market insight. Her responsibilities include designing operationally optimum audio systems, conducting on-site commissioning for major installations and tours, and leading training seminars for end users.

Based in the US, Houle will collaborate closely with both the Martin Audio and TiMax Product Support Groups (PSG) in the UK. Her remit primarily covers the US and Canada, with the potential to support projects across the LATAM region.

Lee Stein, VP North America, confirms, "Nat is a fantastic addition to our team. Her blend of academic excellence and practical expertise, combined with a genuine passion for the technology, will be instrumental in helping our customers maximize their deployment of cutting-edge Martin and TiMax systems."
