Follow-Me Joins Golden Sea GroupGolden Sea, the international lighting manufacturer with brands that include Ayrton and SGM, has acquired a majority stake in Follow-Me, the specialist in lighting tracking solutions. According to a statement issued by both companies, "Follow-Me retains its independent status, whilst gaining R&D resources and manufacturing capacity to develop and deliver the technological advancements live entertainment demands faster and more broadly." Follow-Me's fixture-agnostic solutions included the Track-iT auto-tracking system and DELTA, the latest generation of its manual performer tracking system. "Access to Golden Sea's global engineering resources, facilities and international network, provides us with the platform to deliver even more for our customers," say Erik Berends and Marc van der Well, founder and managing director, respectively, of Follow-Me. "Our partners, customers and employees will all benefit from the momentum this brings to the live entertainment market." "This agreement truly underpins our strategy to architect a portfolio of complementary brands, each at the top of its game," adds Christopher Agius Ferrante, vice-president of Golden Sea, responsible for overseas subsidiaries. "We warmly welcome Follow-Me into the Golden Sea family." Follow-Me will continue to be headquartered in the Netherlands, with the current team remaining and set to expand in the near future. Berends continues as co-founder and technical director, with van der Wel as managing director. Co-founder Gary Yates, who has been central to building what Follow-Me is today, will step down as director, but will remain as a close advisor to the board.
