American DJ Launches Mega TRIPAR Profile

American DJ's new Mega TRIPAR Profile, a compact color-mixing LED PAR can that features the exclusive "sit-flat" design of the company's Mega Par Profile, but has been upgraded with Tri-Color LEDs for superior RGB color blending.

Powered by five 3W three-in-one Tri LEDs (red, green, and blue), the Mega TRIPAR Profile reportedly produces ultra-bright colors that are much more smoothly blended than those created by PAR cans with single-color LEDs. Its Tri-Color LED technology also eliminates the annoying RGB shadows often associated with single-color LED lamps, the company says. The product's tri-color technology is housed in a low-profile sit-flat case identical to that of the original Mega Par Profile. Because the power and DMX connectors have been positioned on the side of the fixture rather than the rear, the unit can sit directly on the ground or inside truss without its hanging bracket. The companhy says this case design makes the Mega TRIPAR Profile ideal for uplighting, architectural wall washing and truss toning, as well as stage lighting, parties, clubs, DJs, and mobile entertainers.

"Our original Mega Par Profile became an immediate top seller, thanks to its revolutionary flat case design. We were inspired by its success to take this concept a step further and come out with the Mega TRIPAR Profile, which has the same sit-flat design, but features the professional performance of Tri-Color LED technology," said Alfred Gonzales, national sales manager for American DJ. "Like the original, the new Mega TRIPAR Profile is a compact, very versatile unit that's easy and economical to operate, and will bring color and excitement to a wide range of applications."

Featuring a 40-degree beam angle, the Mega TRIPAR Profile includes 32 built-in color macros, color strobing and 0-100% electronic dimming. It can be operated in five different modes: DMX-512 mode; sound-active mode; auto mode; static color mode; or RGB mode (color blending). When used with a DMX controller, operators can choose from seven different channel modes for a variety of programming options: one-, two-, three-, four-, five-, six, or seven-channel. A digital display with four-button menu on the rear of the unit provides easy access to DMX settings.

The Mega TRIPAR Profile can be run as a stand-alone unit or in master-slave configuration to give synchronized coverage over a wider area. It features IEC AC input and output on the side of the fixture for daisy-chaining up to 33 units.

As another convenient control option, the Mega TRIPAR Profile can be operated with American DJ's LED RC wireless infrared remote controller (sold separately). The easy-to-use LED RC allows for remote control of the Mega TRIPAR Profile's basic functions from distances up to 30'.

Whatever type of controller or mode is used, the Mega TRIPAR Profile will provide economical, maintenance-free operation. Its long-life LEDs will run for 50,000 hours without needing replacement. Each unit draws just 16W of electricity.

The unit comes with a scissor yoke hanging bracket, allowing it to be hung on truss, mounted on a wall, or set on the ground -- or you can remove the bracket entirely to give the fixture its unique "sit-flat" positioning. Weighing just 3 lbs and measuring a compact 9"L x 8.75"W x 3.5"H, the Mega TRIPAR Profile is billed as being great for mobile use. It features multi-voltage operation: AC100V-240V, 50/60Hz.
