Broadweigh Provides Continuity for TWICE's World TourRonin Rigging relied on Broadweigh wireless load cells throughout the K-Pop group TWICE's This Is For World Tour, providing consistent load monitoring as it moved across Asia, Australia, North America, and Europe. A total of 44 Broadweigh load cells monitored the weight and stability of the tour's mother grid. The grid itself weighed approximately 66,000lb, with a further 38,000lb of production equipment suspended beneath it. This brought the total monitored load to around 104,000lb. Even before the touring configuration was established, approximately 100 load cells were used during the initial weighing process to create an accurate picture of the complete rig and understand how its weight was distributed. Clay Hutson, founder of Ronin Rigging, explains, "The Broadweigh system was particularly valuable because the production was moving continually between venues, each with its own dimensions, structure, and rigging conditions. The load cells allowed us continuity across constantly changing venues." He adds, "What we are always looking for is as little movement on the load cells as possible. That way we know the grid is exactly where it needs to be and everything is working properly. So, in this case, no news was good news." The system allowed the team to monitor the grid consistently and verify that it remained balanced and performed as expected, regardless of the changing environment surrounding it. The tour has also strengthened the relationship between the manufacturer, its new product partner Show Weight Solutions, and Load Lab, led by Sangchoon Lee. Load Lab, which works with TWICE and other major K-pop productions, had been interested in using Broadweigh technology for some time. Show Weight Solutions worked with Sangchoon and his team to help them develop their understanding of the system using their own Broadweigh equipment on future shows. This included creating the necessary system visualizations and Log100 files, preparing the load shackles for touring, and providing practical support around the setup and operation of the equipment. During the tour's visit to London, Show Weight Solutions was invited to The O2 to provide the Korean production team with a more detailed demonstration of the system. Broadweigh product specialist Elliot Van Laere and members of the company's sales team also attended, allowing the visiting team to explore both the technology and the wider technical support available behind it. "At Show Weight Solutions, we're always looking for opportunities to connect people, technology and expertise across the entertainment industry," says managing director Anthony Chapman. "Through the relationships and communication we have established, we were able to bring everyone to the table and demonstrate the Broadweigh system in a real-world production environment. Working alongside Broadweigh allowed us to present not only the technology itself, but also the wider support network and expertise behind it. This collaboration reflected what we believe the entertainment industry should be about: manufacturers, product partners, and end users working together to achieve the best possible outcome." The meeting at The O2 also supported the next stage of Load Lab Korea's adoption of the technology, with Show Weight Solutions preparing and delivering 50 Broadweigh load shackles for the production team's next show. Discussions are now taking place around the potential use of Broadweigh systems within the Korean entertainment market, which could represent an important step in the technology's adoption in South Korea. "Our goal has always been to do more than supply products," Chapman says. "We want to connect businesses, create opportunities, and help bring industry-leading technology to the people who can benefit from it most. This opportunity is a perfect example of that vision in action."
