New Elation White Paper Explores the Importance of Choosing the Right Light Technology

The white paper explores the increasingly important role that light technology plays in achieving the desired color, quality, control, and consistency for a given task.

Elation has released its new white paper, Light That Performs for the entertainment lighting industry, examining why modern lighting performance depends on choosing the right light technology for the application.

The Light That Performs white paper is available here.

Drawing on decades of experience in entertainment lighting, the white paper explores the increasingly important role that light technology plays in achieving the desired color, quality, control, and consistency for a given task. Rather than focusing simply on how much light a fixture produces, Light That Performs examines how different technologies can serve different creative and performance priorities.

"The best lighting technology isn't the one that produces the most light, but the one that gives designers the right quality of light, control, and consistency for the job," states Eric Loader, Elation global vice president, sales and marketing. "With no single metric or light engine solution capable of delivering every combination of color and quality required across today's diverse lighting applications, the challenge becomes choosing the technology best suited to the task."

Light That Performs examines three of Elation's core lighting technologies -- TruSpectrum, TruTone, and SpectraColor -- and how each defines the way light is generated and controlled to address different lighting situations. While the technologies offer different approaches, the company says, they share one objective: delivering the right quality of light for the task.

The white paper is a key component of Quality of Light, an engineering pillar within Elation's broader brand platform, The Art & Science of Light.

"Great lighting has never been just about how much light comes out of a fixture. It's about what that light allows a designer to create," says Loader. "TruSpectrum, TruTone and SpectraColor give designers different approaches for different creative needs, all built around one goal: delivering the right quality of light for the application. That's what the Art & Science of Light is all about."
