Rose Brand Launches Application for 2015 Action Design Competition at the USITT Expo

Rose Brand opens applications for the 2015 Action Design Competition being held at the USITT Conference & Staage Expo in Cincinnati, Ohio happening this March. What started out as an idea from a Rose Brand employee has turned into one of the best USITT memories for students who attend.

The annual Action Design Competition pits four teams of student designers and technicians against one another in a rivalry for prizes and bragging rights. The challenge is to work together creating a 10' x 10' scenic environment, from concept to creation, in under four hours. The REAL challenge, however, is that participants won't know what supplies they have, who they're working with, or what the theme is until they arrive at the conference.

Winning teams are chosen based on a combination of social media votes and ballots at the Rose Brand booth. A panel of judges will determine individual winners for best scenic, technical, costume, and lighting designer.

Students wishing to participate in this year's competition should submit an application via the Rose Brand website at http://bit.ly/ActionDesign2015. Application deadline is February 23, 2015.
