Blizzard Lighting Introduces the New Torrent F3

Blizzard Lighting's Torrent F3

Blizzard Lighting announces the latest addition to the Torrent series of LED powered high-brightness moving heads: The Torrent F3. Equipped with a 50W US-made Luminus CST-90 LED light source, Blizzard designed the fixture based on feature requests received directly from their mobile DJ, club install, and small-to-midsize production users.

"The design team's goal was pretty simple: take about a five-page list of feature requests given to us by our users, build them into the proven optical system of the Torrent 90, and keep the price from further increasing the national debt," joked Will Komassa, Blizzard Lighting's founder and chief designer.

The Torrent F3 features a rotating gobo wheel with seven new rotating, interchangeable gobos plus open, and a static gobo wheel with eight gobos plus open. Seven richly saturated dichroic colors and a three-facet rotating prism are also fitted as standard. The included DMX remote focus also enables popular "gobo morph" effects and unique aerial effects while ensuring razor-sharp pattern projection.

Compared to conventional lamp sources, the Torrent F3's 50W Luminus CST-90 LED and high-performance optics provide a remarkably flat, even field of light output across the entire image, the company says. Plus, with luminous intensity of 7,250 lux at two-meters with standard 15-degree optics, the Torrent F3's output compares favorably with other 75W-class LED fixtures.
