Epson Large Venue Projectors Showcased at Silicon Valley Contemporary Art Show

Epson has partnered with Silicon Valley Contemporary (SVC) to provide 3-chip 3LCD large venue projectors for The Moving Image Experience curated by Paul Young, director of Young Projects gallery, Los Angeles. The inaugural contemporary art fair, taking place April 10 - 13 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, showcases contemporary fine art, video, and digital installations from around the world.

SVC will present approximately $100 million in contemporary art for purchase, representing work by 300 artists, exhibited by 50 prominent galleries from ten countries. The Moving Image Experience is designed to provide visitors with examples of artists who are using technology in their studio practice, helping visitors see how technology-based artworks have evolved over the years.

"The art community has seen a surge of artists focusing on new media, and this revolution happened with the advancement of digital projection technology," says Paul Young, curator, Moving Image Experience, SVC. "It was imperative that I showcase these amazing artists' work in the best light, so I required projection technology with superior image quality and high brightness. Epson was the natural choice."

Utilized in four different installations exhibiting moving image art, Epson's large venue projectors provide advanced features including 3-chip 3LCD technology, up to 10,000 lumens of color brightness, and 10,000 lumens of white brightness, optional lenses with lens shift, built-in edge blending, and diverse selection of inputs.

"We understand what artists need when it comes to projection -- they want to see their art shine the way they envisioned, without color or image distortion," says Sean Gunduz, senior product manager, projectors, Epson America. "Compared to single chip projection solutions, our 3-chip 3LCD large venue projectors provide vivid images with true-to-life colors and the ultimate projection experience for the Moving Image exhibit at Silicon Valley Contemporary."
