Chauvet Professional Announces IP65 COLORdash S-Par 1 RGBA Wash with Single Homogenized Light Source

Chauvet Professional has unveiled the first of the next generation of products in its popular COLORdash LED series: the COLORdash S-Par 1. An IP65-rated RGBA wash fixture, the COLORdash S-Par 1 marks a major advance in LED color blending, because its 27 red, green, blue, and amber LEDs appear, not as individual pixels, but as one large homogenized light source. The company says this breakthrough eliminates the "color separation" that typically occurs during LED mixing, producing a superior, beautifully blended palette of colors, each appearing as a single emulsified hue directly from the lens.

Along with its homogenizing optics, the COLORdash S-Par 1 features new high-power RGBA LED engine for enhanced brightness (377 lux at 5m) and a 22-degree beam angle and 42-degree field angle to cover a wide wash area. Ideal for events, shows, and productions of all types, the light can be used indoors or out, thanks to the all-weather IP65 rating of the unit itself, as well as its IP65-rated power and DMX connections.

To provide the ultimate in flexibility, the unit's IP-rated DMX connectors can connect to standard DMX cables, making the COLORdash S-Par 1 easy to incorporate into any inventory or lighting rig. IP-rated DMX cables are only necessary if the fixture is being used outdoors.

"With its superior homogenized LED color blending, bright output, and indoor/outdoor flexibility, the COLORdash S-Par 1 may very well become the next new workhorse of the event lighting industry," predicted Ben Dickmann, product manager for Chauvet Professional. "In addition to producing outstanding colors and being rated at a 'weatherproof' IP65, it offers many desired features that give today's lighting professionals the convenience and flexibility they want in a wash fixture."

Featuring a color temperature range of 2,800K - 10,000K, the COLORdash S-Par 1 can produce looks ranging from warm white to daylight; users can take advantage of its many color temperature presets. The unit is also equipped with: an electronic dimmer with four dim mode options; an electronic shutter/strobe; and built-in automated programs. It is controllable via DMX protocol, with three DMX personality profiles (five-, six-, or 11-channel) giving designers programming flexibility. An innovative OLED display with password protection and touchscreen interface ensures secure and easy operation.

Made of rugged yet lightweight die-cast aluminum, the COLORdash S-Par 1 is easy to transport while being tough enough to withstand road use. Each unit measures a compact 12.32" x 9.09" x 8.38" (313mm x 231mm x 213mm) and weighs 9lb (4.1 kg). "The easy portability and durability of the COLORdash S-Par 1 are other features that make it ideal for the fast-growing events lighting market," Dickmann pointed out.

The COLORdash S-Par 1 includes an IP65-rated Seetronic Powerkon power cord, as well as a versatile double bracket yoke that can also function as a floor stand. The unit is CE and MET approved.
