Events United Holds Learning Session at WFX: How to Balance Stage Lighting and Video for Live Events

Tim Messina, Events United

From Soulfest to the Awakening Conference, Tim Messina and his team at Events United have designed lighting and video for some of the largest faith-based events in the US. They will be sharing the knowledge gained from these events as well as from their work at hundreds of churches at a WFX learning session sponsored by Chauvet Professional on Wednesday, October 11 from 3:30 - 4:15 pm.

Taking place in Room C-145 at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, the seminar "Balancing Stage Lighting, Video Walls and Projection," will present a guide to creating powerful stage presentations at worship services, conferences, and youth rallies.

Although the Events United team has demonstrated a remarkable ability to "design big," as evidenced by the 80' LED video wall they created for the recent Steubenville East Youth Conference, they avoid the "more is always better approach." Instead, they advocate a thoughtful, measured design strategy that has lighting and video working together to create an immersive stage environment, rather than fight each other for attention.

Topics covered at the session will include:

* Balancing brightness between lighting, video walls, and projection
* Making lighting and video work together both in person and on screen
* Choosing when to use projection and when to use video wall

"We've been great admirers of the work that Events United has done," said Albert Chauvet, CEO of Chauvet. "Their skill at balancing lighting and video to create powerful stage displays is quite impressive, and we're excited to be sponsoring their session. We're confident it will be very beneficial for tech directors and other attendees at WFX."
