Just Days Left for Free Registration as PLASA Show Adds More Content PLASA Show, the international event for live entertainment technology, is ready to present a professional program of talks and training when it returns to Olympia London September 15 - 17. Those yet to register are encouraged to do so as free registration ends Friday, August 30. Launched last week, the program has announced more sessions, covering an array of industry topics, from record-breaking audio and special effects, to career advice and practical training. The program will run all three days, alongside the diverse show floor of 200+ global brands. A multi-million-pound audio installation at one of the UK's most iconic venues will be presented in "More than a Venue." The Royal Albert Hall's head of technical Ollie Jeffery and Steve Jones of d&b audiotechnik will reveal how this major project was achieved and how the new system is impacting the Royal Albert Hall and its many visitors. SFL project manager Patrick Smith will host an exploratory session on sound for worship, offering four proven ideas for better church audio, discussing what happens when contemporary music meets gothic architecture and how immersive audio could change the face of worship. There are many more audio sessions at PLASA Show including the future of theatre audio; how audio is affected by ambitious concert staging; the realities of immersive audio; and L-Acoustics' L-ISA Hyperreal Sound technology. Soulsound's Darryn de la Soul will speak to the younger generation, offering insider know-how on how to craft a perfect CV and get work in the live events industry. This compliments the session led by Women in Live Music who will share secrets on how to survive and thrive in the live music industry. Offering more hand-earned insights is seasoned rigger Pete Kalopsidiotis of PTG Productions who will look at a new sling which has been developed to stand the heat from pyrotechnics. This joins several production talks including Vectorworks, GDTF and MVR software, LED structure safety, workplace practices, lightning guidance, and the latest regulations. ETC will deliver a series of "Tech Talks" on the technology and techniques that result in awe-inspiring lighting design. There are practical training sessions on its Eos and Hog consoles, and ETC will unpack methods to maximize the user's color system and manipulate color and perception. More lighting training comes from ChamSys who return with its MagicQ and QuickQ consoles and software. These sessions offer a hands-on introduction to its products, showing how to patch shows, add fixtures, create cues, and much more. "Blackout," the ground-breaking installation by GSA lighting tutor Mig Burgess will run throughout the show, allowing visitors to step into the Bipolar II mind with the aim of affecting how they think about mental illness. Elsewhere, visitors are invited to the new audio demo lounges featuring L-Acoustics, RCF, and Sound Technology. Also, the brand-new feature, Stage to Studio will see emerging talent perform live while being recorded by renowned engineers. PLASA Show is at Olympia London from September 15 - 17.
