Sacré-Coeur de Jésus in Saint Aubin, France Adds PR Lighting to Religious Concert Venue

Saint-Aubin-lès-Elbeuf, near Rouen, France has a concert venue particularly noted for its sonority - in the church of the Sacré-Coeur de Jésus (the center of the religious community in Saint Aubin).

The building, now under the management of the city, accommodates many cultural events and recently organized a concert of New Orleans Gospel Quartet.

It provided an opportunity for the technical team from Elecson - based in Freneuse, and a provider of effects lighting - to color-wash the monochromic arches of the 19th century church with the tools from the 21st.

Among the pieces used were quantities of PR Lighting's XLED 390 LED moving wash lights. Each head contains ninety 3W LED's (30 red, 30 green, 30 blue) and the average lamp life is 100,000 hours.

"In one year we have gained considerably in luminous intensity of the colors, while transitioning from traditional to LED light," affirms Dominique Trolong, managing director of Elecson. "And thanks to their low power draw, at the same time we have considerably reduced our electrical requirements."

The entire lighting ensemble was controlled with a simple laptop equipped with PC Director 2. "Maintaining this creativity is limited to the update of the software," states Trolong.
