WATCHOUT Reports InfoComm 2012 Success

Tom LeBlanc presents Jacquie McHale Siodin with a CI Best Award for Media Server

As a fully scalable, software-based and requiring no proprietary hardware, Dataton WATCHOUT orchestrates still images, animations, graphics, video, sound, and live feeds into a single impressive show across multiple display areas, either soft-edge blended or scattered. Version 5.2 meets the latest demands of event designers, systems integrators, and end customers. Hot features include stereoscopic playback, video streaming, live interaction, built-in text editing, recording of lighting (DMX) commands, 3D effects, and iPad control.

The company delivered their Academy program which saw partners and users from all corners of the globe attend to catch up on the latest features of Watchout, share knowledge, exchange ideas, and discuss future projects. Dataton invited guest speaker Bart Kresa, projection designer from BARTKRESA design to discuss his latest projects, techniques, and experience.

Adding to the show success, for the second year running, Dataton scooped a Commercial Integrator Best Award in the Media Server Category and took home an InfoComm / Rental & Staging Award in the General AV Product category.

Fredrik Svahnberg, marketing director at Dataton enthuses: "The success of Watchout lies with its ease and functionality inspiring often new and innovative ways in which it is used, from worldwide truck promotional launches, Van Gogh exhibitions, country-wide weddings, immersive 3D corporate presentations, worldwide expos, major international sporting events, live musical events, and much more. The critical part of our success is our trusted partner ecosystem who invest their time and efforts in delivering and supporting Watchout on the market."

Activities at this year's InfoComm were jointly arranged and supported by North American partner Show Sage who recently appointed Mark Watzl to manage Canadian-based sales and support. Jim Testa, president of Show Sage comments: "Over the last year and since the introduction of Watchout version 5, Show Sage has seen a steady increase in business. To support this, Show Sage has invested in manpower, technical support, and marketing and it's really paid off. We're constantly seeing Watchout used in new and exciting ways in the North American market. The InfoComm 2012 show was a celebration of this success!"

Demonstrating its industry-wide acceptance, Dataton Watchout was to be found on several partner booths at InfoComm 2012 highlighting respective technologies including Christie Digital Systems, Da-Lite Screen Company, Digital Projection International, Merging Technologies, projectiondesign, and Salitek.
