Story Teller FX Group Provides Look Solutions' Foggers and Hazers to Four Motion Picture Shoots

Brad Pitt in Cogan's Trade

Look Solutions' foggers and hazers have been racking up motion picture credits lately with Story Teller FX Group, providing sales and rentals of Unique hazers and Viper NT and Power-Tiny foggers to no less than four feature films. Story Teller is a special effects equipment rental and supply company based in Jefferson, Louisiana.

"I've been in this business for a long time, and there isn't a manufacturer with a fog or haze machine that I haven't used or stocked," says Bob Riggs, who heads Story Teller and Seattle-based Riggs Production Associates, Inc., which boasts the largest SFX rental equipment inventory in the Pacific Northwest. "Look Solutions makes the best products - there's no two ways around it. Look foggers and hazers have the reliability and dependability film shoots require."

Story Teller sold Viper NT foggers to GI Joe 2: Retaliation, which shot in New Orleans and stars Bruce Willis. The Viper NT unites current digital technology and features DMX 512 as standard, has an internal timer and easy-to-use LED-display panel, and offers fine adjustment of the output to produce everything from a tiny fog cloud to the thickest fog, the company says.

The company also sold a complement of Unique2 hazers, Viper NT foggers and Power-Tiny foggers to the remake of Total Recall, which shot in Toronto with Colin Farrell starring. Look Solutions' Unique2 haze machine offers minimal warm up time, minimal noise and minimal fluid consumption. Its new, more efficient fan quickly distributes haze in a room, and its variable output can achieve any desired effect from the finest mist to a thick haze similar to fog.

The Power-Tiny an alternative to normal fog generators in any situation where fog is needed quickly and efficiently, the company says. Small, lightweight and battery-powered, Power-Tiny boasts a heat-up time of only one second, an adjustable output and minimal fluid consumption, the company adds.

Riggs served as SFX coordinator on Cogan's Trade when it shot in New Orleans. Through Story Teller, he rented Viper NT foggers and Unique2 hazers to the production, which stars Brad Pitt as a mob enforcer.

Riggs' partner in Story Teller, John Baker, acted as SFX coordinator for Bullet to the Head, another New Orleans shoot. The film, which stars Sylvester Stallone and is based on a French comic series, rented Unique2 hazers and Viper NT foggers from Story Teller.
