IA Stage Completes SkyDeck and Theatrical Rigging System for Philadelphia BalletInterAmerica Stage (IA Stage) has announced the completion of a SkyDeck tension wire grid and full theatrical rigging system for Philadelphia Ballet's new state of the art facility. Finished in May, the system was installed in the newly built 120-150 seat black box venue designed for performance, rehearsal, and creative development. The SkyDeck grid is paired with a comprehensive theatrical rigging package supporting lighting, curtains, scenery, projection, and a wide range of performance technologies. The SkyDeck incorporates 6" grid wells running the full length of the deck, providing dedicated access for motorized ETC Prodigy hoists. Combined with six 1,500lb capacity hand winches and multiple motorized hoists, the Dance Innovation Lab has a versatile, multi mode system for precise equipment positioning and operation. IA Stage also supplied the integrated hoist control system with pendant operation and supervised the full installation to ensure seamless integration and long-term reliability. Together, the SkyDeck hoisting equipment, curtain tracks, and theatrical draperies create a dynamic technical ecosystem that allows the lab to transition effortlessly between performance layouts, rehearsal modes, and educational programming. "Working on Philadelphia Ballet's new building as project manager for InterAmerica Stage was an incredible opportunity," says George Bocaranda, project manager at IA Stage. "Our team delivered the SkyDeck tension wire grid and theatrical rigging systems for their Dance Innovation Lab, and collaborating with Turner Construction Company made the experience exceptional. What I love most is that this space is more than a beautiful building -- it's a place where young people can discover the arts. It's a space to learn, create, perform, and connect. Knowing it will serve the community for years to come is something I'm truly proud of."
