The Light Design Kicks Off Time Code Contest Exclusively with SGM LuminairesYesterday, Romanian online magazine, The Light Design (TLD), launched a new time code contest. The contest is the third in the series, and for this edition of the contest TLD has decided, by popular demand, that participants can only use SGM luminaires for their time code shows. The time code contest offers contestants from across the globe the chance to combine their creative skills with their technical know-how. The winner will be chosen by the public. Alin Popa, founder and editor-in-chief of TLD said: "I am delighted to announce SMG as the official partner for our third time code contest. With SGM's magnificent portfolio of fixtures, no doubt the foundation is laid for the third edition of the contest to be spectacular. I can't wait to see what our contestants come up with this time." Who can enter?
The time code contest is a global contest and is open to anyone with an interest in lighting (SGM employees excepted) -- amateurs and professionals alike. How to enter?
1: Choose a music track for the show (maximum length: five minutes)
2: Use a simulator software of the entrant's own choice
3: Pick a selection of SGM fixtures for the show. To see the SGM fixtures, visit the product section on sgmlight.com. (Eligible luminaires include: G-Spot, G-Profile, G-1 Beam, G-1 Wash, G-Wash, G-4 Wash, i-2 series, i-5 series, P-1, P-2, P-5 series, Q-7 series, SixPack, X-5, XC-5, LT-100/200, LB-100, and LP-700)
4: Program the show
5: Export the 3D render to a high-res .avi video file
6: Send the video file to love@thelightdesign.ro Competition time schedule:
* The competition window is open from today until December 15, 2016. During this time span, contestants can upload their show.
* On December 16 the entries will be visible on the contest page on thelightdesign.ro and the voting period begins.
* The winner will be announced on December 22, 2016 As this contest is part of a series of contests hosted by TLD, the contestant who receives the most votes throughout the 12 contests will eventually receive a prize from TLD for his or her professionalism, creativity and know-how. TLD has not yet revealed the contents of this great prices, but according to Popa: "It'll be something everyone wants." TLD encourages contestants to also be creative when it comes to the choice of scenery. Popa said: "SGM creates products that are both innovative and unique, which is exactly what we expect from all our contestants in terms of creativity. We encourage them to try out different types of spaces and not to stick to the traditional stage, as the actual space is another element contestants can choose freely."
