PLASA Focus: Leeds 2012 Adds Big New Names PLASA Focus: Leeds 2012 looks set to continue its success story with over 90% of exhibition space already contracted and new exhibitors joining the 130 that showed at this year's event. Key brands that have signed up for the first time include Midas, d&b audiotechnik (on the back of its participation at PLASA 2011), ShowTex, Topdeck Stage Systems, and Smoke Factory, whose team visited the event in 2011 and were keen to have a stand presence in 2012. More exhibitors will be announced in the coming weeks. Packed aisles and major new product launches have now firmly established PLASA Focus as a not-to-be-missed industry event for the north of England, but organizers PLASA Events insist they are far from resting on their laurels. Event manager Sophie Atkinson said: "The last show was a real success with exhibitors and visitors, and while it's great to see its popularity growing, we are very keen that our visitors enjoy the experience at every step and want to keep returning." By popular request, new and improved seating and socializing areas will be introduced, complementing the existing free lunch on both days and the well-liked informal atmosphere. A number of new show features and events are also in the pipeline, along with further expansion of the free seminar program that proved a major hit this year, with over 20 hot topics delivered by respected industry figures. "Once again we'll see the UK debut of many new products fresh from international launches at ISE and Pro Light+Sound," said Atkinson. "We're aiming again for quality rather than quantity, and want to keep the focus on business and networking." Some 2457 attendees, including exhibitors, enjoyed Focus's trademark sunshine, free lunch and informal, friendly atmosphere earlier this year. Next year's event, which aims to deliver all that and more, will take place at The Royal Armouries in Leeds on 17 and 18 April 2012.
