Staging Dimensions Celebrates 25th Birthday

Staging Dimensions announces the celebration of its 25th birthday.

The company was founded in Newport News, Virginia, in 2001 by Scott Humphrey, after he recognized an industry-wide need for modular staging systems that offered greater layout versatility. The company's mission was to engineer a strong staging deck paired with accessories and support systems that would fill a critical gap in the staging market. "That vision resulted in a product line featuring some of the strongest staging decks available today," the company says, "paired with an interchangeable support and accessory system." A defining hallmark of Staging Dimensions products is their certified live load rating of 200lb per sq. ft. on decks and no-tool installation for accessory components.

As a sister company to Applied Electronics, Staging Dimensions was uniquely positioned to bundle its staging products with Applied's roof systems. This integrated approach allowed clients to source essential event infrastructure under one umbrella, providing unmatched convenience and consistency.

In 2003, Staging Dimensions relocated to New Castle, Delaware, drawn by expanded facility opportunities, tax-free shopping benefits for clients, and the advantages of Delaware's growing business environment. Continued growth led to another milestone in 2013, when the company expanded into a 60,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility four times the size of its original Delaware location.

While continuing to manufacture its signature line of standard staging systems and accessories, Staging Dimensions also moved into custom fabrication. As a US-based manufacturer, the company's capabilities were not limited by overseas production constraints, allowing for rapid innovation and highly customized solutions.

Notable projects from the company's fabrication portfolio include The Tower, Take Off and Landing Ramp for Hot Wheels, The Double Dare Loop for Hot Wheels, custom scenic staging for the Papal Visit to Philadelphia and Washington, DC, the Camp Izzie beverage launch, a dual-hydraulic mechatronic structure for the Wings Lacrosse Team, a hydraulic performance stage for The Starboard, and the N.C. Wyeth The Apotheosis of the Family custom curved mural structure installation. (You can read about the latter project in the October 2025 issue of LSA.)

In celebration of its 25th birthday, Staging Dimensions has launched a special giveaway for its clients, big and small, in recognition of their support. Every order placed with the company from January 1 through December 15, 2026, will automatically be entered for a chance to win twenty-five free standard staging decks.
