140 Solaris Mozarts Featured on Hall & Oates 2016 Tour

The Daryl Hall and John Oates 2016 tour kicked off this year at New York's Madison Square Garden and will continue through the summer. Nashville, Tennessee-based Morris, in collaboration with famed designer Jesper Luth, provided the production and lighting design. Featured in the design are 140 Solaris Mozart fixtures. "While these lights are small in scale, they make an incredible impact, encompassing both performers in light and creating a warm, asymmetrical backdrop for the show," says Jessica Charlton of Morris.

In January of this year, Morris provided lighting and audio for the 2016 NHL All-Star Weekend, where they first put the Mozarts to the test. The 2016 NHL All-Star Weekend's festivities were broadcast live, and the Mozarts performed well in the live show, while also looking great in both the television coverage and photographs. After that successful deployment, Matt Geasey, visuals department manager at Morris, knew that Mozarts would be the perfect addition to the Hall & Oates 2016 tour. Says Geasey, "These lights not only look great, but they also provide more control than a typical LED curtain."

The compact Mozart is extremely versatile -- it fits in the palm of the user's hand! The lightweight fixture has settings from three to 48 DMX channels, and one, four, or 16 RGB "pixel" groups per fixture, Mozart's ultra-high refresh rate at 38,400Hz is great for any camera. At 5x5" and only 1.25lb., the Mozart fits almost anywhere and is perfect for low weight load-bearing structures and surfaces -- and it's IP65 rated.
