On-Stage Debuted SST1000 Speaker Stand Tray at NAMM On-Stage -- a brand of The Music People -- has released the SST1000 Speaker Stand Tray, a simple, sturdy solution for setting up devices that may not have dedicated stands, such as laptops, projectors, Blu-ray players, mixers, and monitor speakers. Using an existing speaker stand as a base, this multiuse attachment provides a safe, flat surface for equipment. Setup is quick and easy, the company says: Users simply slide the mounting tube onto the top of the speaker pole, lock it in place with the tightening knob, then fasten the tray to the mounting tube using the included hex wrench. As the tray uses an existing speaker stand as a base, it's easy to dial in just the right height for height-dependent devices like projectors, speakers, and lights -- plus it's possible to set a comfortable level for playing a keyboard or using a computer. The spacious 16.5" x 15" tray is well-suited for holding anything from media players and digital recorders to effect pedals and small keyboards, or even handheld percussion and tools and supplies. Padding provides traction to keep gear from slipping or shifting and low sidewalls prevent items from rolling or sliding over the edge. Constructed of solid steel, this tray is said to deliver strength, stability, and rigidity to safely support equipment weighing up to 30lb.
